100% Girl

As I have been working on the nursery, I have started to wonder what would happen if this baby was a boy. The past few ultrasounds that we have had, the doctor has not been there for them so we took the tech's word for it that is is still a girl. With no other ultrasounds scheduled from 30 weeks until delivery, I was a little uncertain. God's plan would end up reassuring me that yes, we are having a Lorelei and not a boy!

Yesterday morning, I tried to get Lorelei to move because I had noticed a big decrease in movement the day before. Couldn't get her to move like usual so, we went to labor and delivery to be monitored. After monitoring heart rates and whatever else all those machines monitor, my doctor wanted an ultrasound just to ensure that everything looked good. Of course at the ultrasound she was moving like an acrobat! The nurse practitioner said that I may not have been able to feel her due to the her position in relation to the placenta-or something like that. She also told us that she is still a girl and she weighs about 4 lbs. 11 oz! Though I only spent 2 hours at labor and delivery, I have learned that it is an exhausting place. And I wasn't even doing any laboring!! I was just laying in bed being monitored. I don't know what it is about that place but after getting home, I can't remember when I have ever been so tired! Oh the months ahead of tiredness...

  1. Lack of sleep is hard, but your body regulates some to resting on naps. Remember this hard season does not last forever. You can get through it. Love to you all!
